Department of botany established in 1971. The two-teaching faculty Dr. U. H. Patil and Prof. R. S. Bhosale are shouldering the department. The department is actively engaged in student centric and various social activities. In the year 2025-26 the department has organized three workshops Financial Literacy, Job Opportunities in Rual development and Environment Conservation. Also, Department organized Lichen exhibition, Medicinal Plant exhibition, Wild seed Collection and exhibition, Tree plantation programs, plastic free campus activity etc. To encourage students, the department is conducting seminars, group activities, Quiz etc. Dr. U. H. Patil is Shivaji University Recognized PG Teacher and Recognized Ph. D. and M. Phill guide. He has published 20 research paper, 18 text books for B. Sc. Level. Mr. R. S. Bhosale is working on the lichen for his Ph. D. He reported three lichen species, new to Maharashtra.
