About Department
The
Department of Chemistry, established in 1986, has been committed
to
providing quality education and fostering scientific temper among students. The
department offers Undergraduate (UG) programs and has been offering a Postgraduate (PG) program in Organic Chemistry since the academic year 2022–23. The
department is supported by a team of 6 full-time qualified faculty members and 7
CHB (Clock Hour Basis) teachers,
ensuring effective teaching and academic
guidance.
The
Department has four recognized Ph.D.
research guides under
whom 11 research scholars are pursuing doctoral studies. The epartment actively collaborates (MoU’s and linkages) with reputed institutions, industry and research centers to enhance the quality of scientific research and to stay aligned with recent advancements in science and technology. To enhance students' knowledge and employability, the department conducts four add-on courses in emerging and applied areas of chemistry. The department is well-equipped with modern laboratory facilities, including a UV Double Beam Spectrophotometer, Muffle Furnace, Ultrasonicator, pH Meter, Conductivity Meter, tentiometer, and other essential instruments that facilitate practical learning, research activities, and analytical studies. Through its academic programs, skilled faculty, and advanced infrastructure, the department strives to promote excellence in chemical education and research.
